This past Sunday, I spent the day in SoHo, NYC. Nothing opened till Noon, which only left 4 hours for me to go to the yarn shops I wanted to hit and shop for clothes. It was one of the best shopping trips ever, although I didn’t get any new boots…
First I hit Loopy Mango. I had seen their products and yarn on Pinterest. The shop was very interesting…definitely not your typical yarn shop with many unique décor items. But of course I was drawn to the Big Loop Yarn that was along the walls. Customers were coming in inquiring about the Nantucket Throw or as the owner put it, the 2 Hour Blanket. So I started to pay more attention. So hip and current. Secretly I was thinking how I would love to wrap up in it at spring LAX games.
Next was Purl Soho. It was bright and beautiful just like the website. It was quite crowded, but I managed to introduce my self to the Store Manager and spoke with her briefly about the Purl Soho yarn line. Maybe one day…
I couldn’t get the Big Loop Yarn and 2 Hour Blanket out of my head. I tried texting Mom to get her input…fortunately she was with a shop full of customers. She was no help. So I had to trust my gut. I know Frederick isn’t NYC…but I kept thinking that The Knot House should have this yarn.
So before I know it…I’m on the subway with 4 big bags of Loopy Mango Big Loop and Bubble Yarn texting Mom…who has no patience or time for me.
I didn’t know that Anthropologie was getting ready to start selling the Loopy Kits or that the 2 Hour Blanket/Nantucket Throw had been on the cover of Real Living magazine until I started researching and getting ready to post this. It seems this is all the rage! Rightfully so…you have to feel and see this blanket (there is one in the shop btw)!
So if you are interested in instant gratification and a great gift for yourself or a loved one, we are going to have a FREE WORKSHOP on November 30th @ 8:30 Sat. Morning. We will place an order for the Big Loop on Nov 15th so sign up and pick your color. If you can’t make this date and are still want to make the Throw, just come by or give us a call.
I am working on scarf samples now, and the little that I was able to bring home will be out this weekend! Wait till you see the size 50 needles!
